In September, we celebrated the contributions of one of the most important members of our project, Lina Diaz, as she moves on to her next professional chapter.

Lina joined us as the Project Coordinator of the Agroecology4Climate Project and Research Coordinator at Wittman’s Lab in September 2024. Upon joining, she was immediately thrown into the deep end, traveling around the world just a few days into her new job. Lina joined the AG4C team at our kick-off meeting in Germany and then continued to meet with partners in India. Lina was tasked with coordinating our motley crew of nearly 40 students, researchers, farmers, government representatives, and community members, located across 4 continents. Handling this work with impressive professionalism, Lina exemplifies the characteristics of a kind, supportive, proactive, and dedicated team member.

As our work began, Lina helped us establish our protocols for collective work and collaboration – making our lives easier and roles clearer. Behind the scenes, Lina was always helping us stay on track, following up on loose ends, and chasing us down to meet deadlines.

We are also proud to see how Lina grew in her role, developing her own interests alongside the project and sharing them as we went along. Working with the LiteFarm team around open science and sustainability initiatives, Lina developed an interest in climate tech and finance. We are extremely supportive of her choice to pursue graduate studies in climate finance and are excited to follow along.

We are grateful for everything Lina has brought to Agroecology4Climate and wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
